Journey to Marathon des Sables
Marathon des Sables Fundraising Mission
Your donation will help us:
Continue providing financial and practical support to people in need, specifically, though not exclusively, terminally and chronically ill children and their families, particularly those living below the poverty line.
Fulfill our mission of supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, affording them the opportunity to live with dignity.
Share Erin Templer’s light and legacy with the world by leveraging the application of cutting-edge neuro-literacy, well-established educational modalities, and local community resources.
The Marathon des Sables is a is a seven day ultramarathon that takes place in the Sahara Desert. The 251 km foot race is approximately the distance of six regular marathons and is regarded as the toughest foot race on Earth.
During the race participants are responsible for carrying their own backpack with all of the gear they will need for the entire week including food and sleeping gear.
Paul Templer, chief executive officer of Templer Foundation is participating in the 37th Edition of the Marathon des Sables which takes place from April 12 - April 22, 2024.
Paul is running to raise money for the Templer Foundation, specifically for a program called “Erin’s Light” named in honor of his 15-year-old daughter Erin who died in 2020. Templer Foundation provides services that can change a child’s developmental trajectory and improve outcomes for children living with developmental disabilities, families, and communities around the world. Its global initiative, Erin’s Light Early Intervention Program, leverages the application of cutting-edge neuro-literacy, well-established educational modalities, and local community resources. The combination of these methods empowers parents, guardians, and caregivers to enhance their quality of life and alleviate the stigmatization associated with their children, many of whom are medically fragile.
